The easiest choc tart ever!

This is called a "hot chocolate tart" and I saw it on Adam Liaw's TV show and is an Elizabeth Hewson recipe..  It's so easy you could make it on holidays, you don't even have to melt the butter for the crust.

When making the tart, make sure you process the biscuits well, and you can (if desperate) use any other chocolate coated cream biscuit.

Whip the cream well but be carefull not to go too far or you will have butter instead of whipped cream.

If you are making this for kids, I would use a milk chocolate or it will be too rich for them, othewise I think this is an adult dessert.  It easily serves 12 as you only need very small slices.

If you are having a dinner party, you could just make the filling and fill some glasses with it for a chocolate mouse - delish with a dash of orange liquier on top.

Make the tart the day before you need it to make life easy, just cover with plastic and store in the fridge.

HOT CHOCOLATE TART

Ingredients

125 mls milk (1/2 cup)

150g mini marshmallows

150 g 70% dark chocolate

300g Tim Tams

70g cold butter

300ml thickened cream

Method

Melt over a low heat, milk, chocolate and marshmallows.  Stir all the time until melted and combined.  Put in the fridge to semi-set.

Put the biscuits and butter into a food processor and blits until it looks like small rubble and clumps together.

Tip the crumb mixture into the lined tin and press into the base and sides with your fingers to form an even tart shell. You want to make sure that the edge is at least 5 mm thick.

Refrigerate while you finish the filling.

Whip the cream to firm peaks and then gently add it to the filling mixture.  Put into tart shell and refrigerate for about 5 hours.
