I use crunchy peanut butter, but you can use cashew butter or almond butter as a substitute. Note that the "cup" measurements are flexible, see what suites your taste, you may like more hoisin! Also, you may want to chop some coriander or shallots and put that in too. Its a very flexible recipe.
Satay Sauce (Quick version)
Rating - easy
Here's how
In a saucepan on low-ish heat, put:
1/2 cup of peanut butter
1/4 cup of soy sauce
1/4 cup of hoisin sauce
1/2 cup of sweet chilli sauce
Stir until it loosens, and add water to get it to the consistency you want.
Grate in 1 small red chilli, 1/2 inch ginger (you can also add a grated garlic clove).
Stir and cook on low heat until ready to taste.
